Monday 23 March
No trips our over the weekend as we both had a fluey cold (not COVID). Today back out in the garden for a short while. Several hoverfly but only managed to get a decent photograph of a Drone Fly (Eristalis tenax). Jan got some photographs of a queen Common Carder Bee (Bombus pascuorum).
Then on Monday evening everything changed again. Now we can only go out for local shopping or local exercise once a day. So we have decided to put into practice an idea we’ve had for a long time. Systematically recording everything we see in the garden and photographing and identifying as much as possible.
Jan has started a separate notebook for species lists. It has it’s own title – “Easily Distracted by Bugs”.
